SOVA® Aero: Ultra-Thin, Ultra-Strong Protection
The SOVA® Aero mouthguard is a wafer-thin yet incredibly strong solution for teeth grinding. Designed for maximum comfort and durability, it outperforms traditional nightguards in fit, convenience and affordability - giving you superior protection without the bulk.
Scientifically proven effectiveness
Independent research from the University of Michigan confirms that SOVA® provides the same level of protection as a custom-fitted dental mouthguard - at a fraction of the cost and with a much more comfortable fit.
What Makes SOVA® Aero Stand Out?
- Ultra-thin and comfortable. At just 1.6 mm, SOVA® Aero is the thinnest and strongest mouthguard available. Unlike bulky alternatives, it fits so seamlessly that you’ll forget you're wearing it - allowing you to sleep comfortably through the night.
- Advanced protection with Diffusix™ technology. SOVA® Aero absorbs and disperses grinding forces across your teeth, reducing pressure and preventing damage to both your teeth and jaw.
- Innovative perforated design. The unique perforations allow for a precise fit while ensuring airflow and saliva circulation, protecting your teeth from bacteria and acids - unlike traditional guards that trap moisture and can contribute to tooth decay.
- Up to 8 times stronger than standard mouthguards. Unlike most mouthguards made from EVA, which wear down quickly, SOVA’s high-strength material is up to 8 times more durable. Plus, it’s fully remouldable, so you can shape and reshape as many times as needed for the perfect fit.
- A fraction of the cost of a dental mouthguard. Custom dental guards can cost upwards of €300 and take weeks to make. SOVA® Aero offers a professional-quality alternative at just 20% of the cost and is ready to use in minutes.
- Great for daytime use, too. SOVA® is so slim that you can talk and even drink while wearing it, making it an excellent solution for jaw clenching during the day.
- Full coverage, including molars. Unlike many mouthguards that neglect the back teeth, SOVA® Aero provides full coverage, preventing bite changes caused by molar shifting.
- CE quality mark. SOVA® Aero is CE-certified and proudly made in the USA, ensuring superior quality and safety compared to many mass-produced alternatives.

Easy at-home customisation
- Thoroughly wash your hands and clean the mouthguard.
- Heat water to approx. 75°C (not boiling) and pour into a large bowl.
- Place the SOVA® mouthguard in warm water and wait until the material becomes soft and flexible.
- Carefully remove the mouthguard from the water, preferably with a metal spatula (or, if you don't have one, a fork).
- Carefully place the mouthguard on your upper jaw, ensuring the tooth surfaces are well covered. You can also place it on your lower jaw if you prefer.
- Carefully suck the air out of the mouthguard through the perforations so that it moulds neatly around your teeth.
- Gently bite down without applying too much pressure.
- Wear the mouthguard for approximately 20 minutes so it can harden completely and fit comfortably around your teeth.
- Reshape if necessary. You can reshape the bit up to 20 times until it fits perfectly.
Keeping your SOVA® Nightguard clean
- Daily cleaning. When you wake up, clean the SOVA® with an ultrasonic cleaner, like this one from Mibrush. You can also clean it with your toothbrush - just be careful not to scratch it, as scratches can attract bacteria.
- Sanitise. Spray your SOVA® with a disinfectant spray like this one from MiBrush.
- Rinse and store. Carefully rinse your SOVA® mouthguard under the tap and store it in its protective case at room temperature.
- Avoid harsh cleaners and high heat. Avoid aggressive cleaning products, such as alcohol-containing products. Do NOT use effervescent tablets, dishwashing liquid or mouthwash. Do NOT put the SOVA® mouthguard in the dishwasher or expose it to extremely high temperatures.
What is the composition of SOVA®?
The SOVA® material is composed of a high-quality mix of biodegradable products. This material is safe, durable and stronger than EVA. In addition, it’s completely free from harmful chemicals such as BPA, latex PVA and phthalates. An official European safety certificate can be sent by e-mail upon request.

Most frequently asked questions about SOVA® Aero mouthguard against teeth grinding
- Is SOVA® suitable for the lower or upper jaw? Although originally designed for the upper jaw, it can also be customised for the lower jaw if preferred.
- What if it’s too loose and keeps falling out? If the fit isn’t perfect at first, no worries - you can reshape it up to 20 times. If the SOVA® doesn’t stay in place properly, it’s probably formed too loosely. How tight or loose the bit is depends on the suction you apply during shaping. So, if it feels too loose, use more suction to ensure the mouthguard stays in place better.
- What if it’s too tight, and I feel pressure on my teeth? If the SOVA® puts too much pressure on your teeth, the mouthguard is probably formed too tightly. Try using less suction while shaping for a more relaxed fit.
- I'm struggling to shape the mouthguard properly. What should I do? The recommended water temperature is 70°C, but you can go slightly higher - around 80–90°C. Just make sure the water is no longer boiling when you place the mouthguard in. After about a minute, the SOVA® should be soft enough to mould. A good sign that it's ready is when the material turns completely transparent.
- Does the SOVA® protect the back molars? Yes. Unlike many mouthguards, SOVA® extends to cover your back molars for complete protection.
- Can I use SOVA® with dental work? Yes. Permanent dental work, such as crowns, veneers and bridges, are safe as long as they’re placed correctly and in good condition.
- Can I use SOVA® with braces? It’s possible. However, we recommend consulting your dentist to make adjustments to the mouthguard. In case of intensive adjustments to the teeth, the orthodontist may suggest an alternative so as not to hinder the progress of the treatment.
- What if I accidentally bite through my mouthguard? SOVA® is designed to be highly durable. If damage does occur, it’s likely due to excessive pressure during shaping. It’s, therefore, important to apply only light pressure during the moulding process.
