SOVA® Junior Night Guard (Purple): Teeth grinding mouthguard for children aged 6 to 12, designed to protect against damage from grinding

  • Protects teeth against damage caused by teeth grinding
  • Specifically tailored for children’s teeth (ages 6-12)
  • Ultra-thin 1.6 mm design for maximum comfort
  • Easy to mould for a perfect fit
  • Free from BPA, BPS, Latex, PVC and other harmful substances
  • Effortless shaping with the Sleep Heat Pack

Made from ultra-thin SISU material, SOVA® Junior mouthguards offer exceptional quality and comfort.

  • Ultra-thin design for a secure yet comfortable fit
  • Openings allow natural breathing and saliva flow
  • Enables your child to breathe, drink and talk normally while wearing it

Ultra-thin yet exceptionally strong

At just 1.6 mm thick, the SOVA® Junior Night Guard provides powerful protection against teeth grinding and jaw clenching - without the bulk of traditional mouthguards. Thanks to SISU, a high-quality polymer, it’s 50% thinner than standard night guards, making it far more comfortable for children to wear.

Stronger than EVA for maximum durability

Unlike conventional mouthguards made from EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) plastic, the SOVA® Junior Night Guard is 30% stronger and has 8x higher tensile strength, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Innovative design for better oral health

With Diffusix technology, the mouthguard features strategic perforations that:

  • Distribute pressure evenly across the teeth for superior protection
  • Allow natural saliva flow, preventing bacteria buildup and promoting oral health
  • Ensure your child can breathe, drink, and talk comfortably while wearing it

A simple, effective, and comfortable way to protect your child’s precious smile!

SOVA® Junior is also available in white and green.

Easy at-home customisation

  1. Thoroughly wash your hands and clean the mouthguard.
  2. Heat water to approx. 75°C (not boiling) and pour into a large bowl.
  3. Place the SOVA® mouthguard in warm water and wait until the material becomes soft and flexible.
  4. Carefully remove the mouthguard from the water, preferably with a metal spatula (or, if you don't have one, a fork).
  5. Carefully place the mouthguard on your upper jaw, ensuring the tooth surfaces are well covered. You can also place it on your lower jaw if you prefer.
  6. Carefully suck the air out of the mouthguard through the perforations so that it moulds neatly around your teeth.
  7. Gently bite down without applying too much pressure.
  8. Wear the mouthguard for approximately 20 minutes so it can harden completely and fit comfortably around your teeth.
  9. Reshape if necessary. You can reshape the bit up to 20 times until it fits perfectly.

Keeping your SOVA® Nightguard clean

  • Daily cleaning. When you wake up, clean the SOVA® with an ultrasonic cleaner, like this one from Mibrush. You can also clean it with your toothbrush - just be careful not to scratch it, as scratches can attract bacteria.
  • Sanitise. Spray your SOVA® with a disinfectant spray like this one from MiBrush.
  • Rinse and store. Carefully rinse your SOVA® mouthguard under the tap and store it in its protective case at room temperature.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners and high heat. Avoid aggressive cleaning products, such as alcohol-containing products. Do NOT use effervescent tablets, dishwashing liquid or mouthwash. Do NOT put the SOVA® mouthguard in the dishwasher or expose it to extremely high temperatures.

Caution: Limit Therapy to no more than 2 months at a time. Most children respond quickly to therapy and the elimination of the SOVA® Junior Night Guard is usually possible in 4-6 weeks. Remold every 4 weeks to accommodate for growing arches.

What is the composition of SOVA®?

The SOVA® material is composed of a high-quality mix of biodegradable products. This material is safe, durable and stronger than EVA. In addition, it’s completely free from harmful chemicals such as BPA, latex PVA and phthalates. An official European safety certificate can be sent by e-mail upon request.

  • Keep it fresh & clean. Use the SOVA® Spray disinfectant regularly to maintain hygiene, ensure a fresh taste and keep bacteria at bay.
  • Shape with ease. The SOVA® Heat Pack makes the fitting process smoother, helping you achieve the perfect fit effortlessly.
  • Store it safely. Keep the mouthguard clean and protected with a SOVA® case to prevent damage and contamination.

With the proper care, your child's SOVA® Junior Night Guard will stay fresh, comfortable and effective for longer.

Most frequently asked questions about SOVA® Junior mouthguard against teeth grinding

  1. Is SOVA® suitable for the lower or upper jaw? Although originally designed for the upper jaw, it can also be customised for the lower jaw if preferred.
  2. What if it’s too loose and keeps falling out? If the fit isn’t perfect at first, no worries - you can reshape it up to 20 times. If the SOVA® doesn’t stay in place properly, it’s probably formed too loosely. How tight or loose the bit is depends on the suction you apply during shaping. So, if it feels too loose, use more suction to ensure the mouthguard stays in place better.
  3. What if it’s too tight, and I feel pressure on my teeth? If the SOVA® puts too much pressure on your teeth, the mouthguard is probably formed too tightly. Try using less suction while shaping for a more relaxed fit.
  4. I'm struggling to shape the mouthguard properly. What should I do? The recommended water temperature is 70°C, but you can go slightly higher - around 80–90°C. Just make sure the water is no longer boiling when you place the mouthguard in. After about a minute, the SOVA® should be soft enough to mould. A good sign that it's ready is when the material turns completely transparent.
  5. Does the SOVA® protect the back molars? Yes. Unlike many mouthguards, SOVA® extends to cover your back molars for complete protection.
  6. Can I use SOVA® with dental work? Yes. Permanent dental work, such as crowns, veneers and bridges, are safe as long as they’re placed correctly and in good condition.
  7. Can I use SOVA® with braces? It’s possible. However, we recommend consulting your dentist to make adjustments to the mouthguard. In case of intensive adjustments to the teeth, the orthodontist may suggest an alternative so as not to hinder the progress of the treatment.
  8. What if I accidentally bite through my mouthguard? SOVA® is designed to be highly durable. If damage does occur, it’s likely due to excessive pressure during shaping. It’s, therefore, important to apply only light pressure during the moulding process.
